Diesel Mechanic (Heavy Truck)

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic (Heavy Truck) to join River States Truck And Trailer. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for accurately diagnosing, troubleshooting malfunctions, and providing quality repairs on Class 6-8 vehicles. You will need to work independently, maintain a neat work area, and deliver excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Accurately diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions using proper tools and critical thinking skills.
• Provide quality repairs on heavy trucks with a high degree of independence.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
• Resolve customer concerns through problem identification and solution provision.
• Participate in ongoing training to remain updated on new technologies.
• Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

• 5-7 years experience as a diesel technician on Class 6-8 vehicles.
• Valid driver's license.
• Willingness to pass background check and drug screening.
• Own necessary tools for the job.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Positive team attitude.

Preferred

• Class A CDL.
• Technical degree.
• A/C, Brake, and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications.
• Specialization in specific areas like engines or brakes.
