Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Family Advocate to join our team at Children First Inc. As a Family Advocate, you will play a vital role in supporting family well-being and promoting children's learning and development by integrating parent and family engagement strategies into all our programs. Your responsibilities will include providing case management, referrals, and support services to families, promoting parents as advocates for their children, maintaining family and child-related records, and facilitating strong parent communication and involvement. Additionally, you will act as a liaison between classroom and home settings.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of a Baccalaureate Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field with coursework in counseling, psychology, and child development.
  • Two years of experience in a family/social services or early childhood setting related to case management.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Specialized training in social services, health, or disabilities case management is desired.
  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record, immediate/continued enrollment in the Criminal History Registry-Child Care Division, current Health Appraisal, and certification in First Aid and CPR are required.

  • Knowledge of Head Start Program Performance Standards and the Parent, Family, Community Engagement Framework.
  • Strong communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to manage a flexible schedule, solve problems, make appropriate decisions, and work collaboratively with staff and community partners.
  • Proficiency in utilizing technology for program services reporting and monitoring.

Service Delivery

You will ensure the delivery of high-quality program services aligned with the Head Start Program Performance Standards, State and local regulations, and Children First, Inc. policies and procedures to support school readiness.

Compensation

$18-23 per hour.
