Automotive Diesel Mechanic

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Automotive Diesel Mechanic to join our team at First Student, the leading school transportation provider in North America. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing school buses to ensure safety and vehicle readiness, while mentoring lower-level technicians. Your responsibilities will include performing preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and diagnostics for vehicle and equipment repairs.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections.
• Diagnose and conduct repairs on brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
• Ensure accurate completion of work orders and provide mobile emergency services support.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with willingness to obtain CDL while employed.
• Minimum of 3 years of automotive or diesel maintenance experience or technical school education.
• Possession of a mechanic's tool set.
• Willingness to participate in ASE certification program with training, testing, and bonuses provided.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical requirements.
