Job Description
The Department of Accounting in the Debbie and Jerry Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University is seeking a dynamic leader to fill the role of Department Chair. As a Carnegie Foundation designated Research-Extensive institution and AACSB-accredited department, the successful candidate will be responsible for fostering scholarly excellence in research, teaching, and industry engagement, and enhancing the department's reputation both on- and off-campus. The Chair will oversee the management of the department, faculty recruitment, advancement, personnel matters, and external relations.
Anticipated Start Date: July 1, 2024
Responsibilities
- Lead and promote the work of faculty in the Department of Accounting.
- Foster collegiality and support the University's land-grant mission.
- Coordinate overall department management and external relations.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in accounting or related discipline.
- Proven scholarly record qualifying for appointment as a tenured faculty member.
- Experience with AACSB accreditation standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Record of publications in top accounting journals.
- Administrative experience, faculty mentoring, and curriculum development.
- Knowledge of accounting education trends and AACSB accreditation.
