Job Description
First Student, the largest school transportation provider in North America, is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in New Castle County Votech, Christina, and Appoquinimink school Districts. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing International and Thomas school buses to ensure vehicle safety and readiness. Responsibilities
- Lead preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections.
- Diagnose and perform repairs on brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
- Ensure accurate completion of work orders and assist with emergency services.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license; willingness to obtain CDL while employed.
- Minimum 5 years of automotive or diesel maintenance experience or technical school education.
- Mechanic's toolset and willingness to participate in ASE certification program.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical requirements.
