Energy Development Manager, Grid Analytics

Job Description

We are hiring an Energy Development Manager in Grid Analytics to join Amazon Data Services, Inc., a leading provider of cloud services. In this role, you will lead transmission planning activities to enable the identification of sites for renewable energy projects and power supply opportunities for existing and future data centers. This position offers a unique opportunity for a technically adept individual to advance their career in the clean energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain transmission planning and generation interconnection models to align with Amazon's growth plans.
• Support key decision-making processes related to renewable energy and load capacity planning by managing datasets and key performance indicators.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and address transmission constraints.
• Conduct power flow transmission studies to explore alternative solutions like Battery storage for data center energy decarbonization.
• Facilitate technical due diligence assessments on power connection options for proposed projects.
• Manage consultants and contractual agreements related to projects.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience.
• Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies in infrastructure.
• Experience with infrastructure builds under varying scenarios.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in Transmission planning and Generation Interconnection studies.
