Job Description
The Courtyard Portland East is seeking an Engineer Level 1 for a part-time position. As an Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the property and ensuring the comfort and safety of guests and staff. Your responsibilities will include performing various repairs, maintenance tasks, and adhering to local, state, and Federal codes.
Responsibilities
- Make repairs to the hotel air conditioning system, change filters, clean coils, and replace motors.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment such as boilers, chillers, HVAC, electrical, etc.
- Test and record readings on equipment, including cooling towers.
- Replace and program televisions, light switches, receptacles, bulbs, and fixtures.
- Perform furniture, plumbing, and pump repairs.
- Understand and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- Test, clean, and repair swimming pools and spas.
- Paint designated areas, repair sheet rock, wall coverings, and hotel electronic lock systems.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required, experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- At least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field is advantageous.
- Trade school or college coursework in a related field can be helpful.
- Flexible schedule; ability to lift heavy objects; strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have problem-solving skills, be able to multitask, maintain high grooming standards, and attend required meetings and trainings.
