Job Description
Hornblower - City Experiences is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join its City Cruises Operation in Norfolk, VA. As part of the team, you will work alongside the Sous Chef and Executive Chef to ensure high-quality food service, adherence to sanitation standards, and excellent guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Manage kitchen staff during cruises to ensure compliance with sanitation codes and Company standards.
- Recruit, train, and schedule kitchen staff as per operational requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance service quality and guest experience.
- Control kitchen operation costs, monitor inventory, and oversee purchasing processes.
- Handle guest service issues promptly and effectively to ensure guest retention.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum three years of kitchen experience in a high-volume setting.
- Prior experience in kitchen staff management.
- Formal culinary training or equivalent experience.
- ServSafe Certified.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
