Principal Cybersecurity Engineer (Identity)

Job Description

Discover Financial Services is seeking a self-motivated Principal Cybersecurity Engineer to join the Identity Security Platform Authentication Services Team. This role involves automating, enhancing, and optimizing cybersecurity portfolios, focusing on authentication technologies to secure Discover from emerging threats. As a Principal Cybersecurity Engineer, you will design complex secure systems, lead technical projects, and ensure regulatory compliance while working in a high-velocity culture.

Responsibilities

• Act as the principal advisor in Cybersecurity matters to upper management.
• Drive Cybersecurity engineering solutions, program optimization, and risk remediation.
• Create and maintain Cybersecurity technology roadmaps and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
• Oversee project implementation and research new Cybersecurity solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• At least 6 years of experience in Information Security, Application Security, or related fields.
• Proficient technical rating on the Dreyfus engineering scale for internal applicants.

Preferred Qualifications

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Expertise in Enterprise Single Sign-On/MFA using Cloud-based Identity Provider.
• Experience with Common Authentication technologies/protocols, Cyber Security technologies, and Automation technologies.
• Programming/scripting knowledge and Agile methodology experience.
