Merchandise Handler - Overtime Available

Job Description

We are currently looking to hire a diligent Merchandise Handler with Forklift Operations experience to join our team at Slumberland Furniture. This full-time position offers a competitive starting salary of $17 per hour and provides opportunities for overtime.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position

The Merchandise Handler role involves efficiently storing, moving, and distributing products within our warehouse. As a key team member, you will lead by example, provide training to colleagues, and ensure accurate merchandise management.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently move and arrange merchandise to optimize storage space.
• Handle merchandise transfers to and from the show floor for display, storage, or shipment.
• Utilize the point of sale (POS) system for inventory management.
• Ensure precision in customer orders and maintain accurate records.
• Conduct inspections, tagging, and receiving of incoming products; assemble and wrap outgoing items for pristine delivery.
• Provide training to team members and maintain a high level of customer service in all interactions.
• Adhere to safety protocols, practice risk reduction procedures, and uphold a clean and organized work environment.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by supervisors, including facility maintenance tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent (or actively pursuing).
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware components.
• Valid driver's license.
• Basic computer literacy, POS system familiarity is a plus.
