Merchandise Handler - Overtime Available

Job Description

We are currently looking for a dedicated Merchandise Handler - Overtime Available to join our team at Slumberland Furniture. This full-time position offers competitive pay starting at $17 per hour, with the opportunity for growth and development within our organization.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position

The Merchandise Handler is responsible for efficiently storing, moving, and distributing products within our warehouse. The role involves utilizing forklift operations and providing guidance and training to other team members.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities

Merchandise Movement

• Organize merchandise to optimize space utilization.
• Facilitate the movement of products to and from the show floor, ensuring proper display, wrapping, and storage.
• Utilize the point of sale (POS) system for effective inventory management.
• Ensure accuracy in handling customer orders and maintaining precise system records.

Training

Lead by example and provide training to team members to enhance operational efficiency.

Customer Service

Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, and vendors. Resolve inventory discrepancies promptly and uphold inventory accuracy standards.

Other

Execute duties as assigned by the supervisor. Maintain facility cleanliness and assist in grounds and building maintenance. Adhere to safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or in progress).
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware components.
• Valid driver's license and basic computer proficiency.
• Prior experience with a POS system is advantageous.
