Merchandise Handler - Overtime Available

Job Description

Slumberland Furniture is hiring Merchandise Handlers for our warehouse operations. As a Merchandise Handler, you will be responsible for efficiently managing merchandise movement, ensuring accurate inventory, and providing excellent customer service. This is a full-time position with competitive pay starting at $17 per hour.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position:

This role involves storing, moving, and distributing products within the warehouse. You will lead by example, provide training to team members, and ensure the smooth flow of merchandise.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently move and condense merchandise to optimize space.
• Handle merchandise for storage, delivery, customer pickup, or shipment.
• Utilize the point of sale (POS) system to manage merchandise flow.
• Ensure accuracy in customer orders and system records.
• Inspect, identify, and process incoming merchandise; prepare outgoing items for delivery.
• Provide training to coworkers on best practices.
• Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
• Resolve inventory discrepancies and keep management informed.
• Adhere to safety guidelines, maintain equipment, and ensure a safe facility.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic math skills and computer knowledge.
• Valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of tools, hardware components, and product assembly.
• Experience with POS systems is desirable.
