Job Description
The Data Center Operations Technician I role at Flexential is a pivotal position involving 24x7x365 support for customers and resources. This job requires a solid grasp of Facilities infrastructure, Windows operating systems, and PC management applications. The ideal candidate should excel in troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining professionalism, and supporting service installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide prompt resolution or escalation of Facility and customer issues.
- Maintain a professional demeanor while performing data center duties.
- Troubleshoot and document technical problems in the Flexential ticketing system.
- Follow Flexential's support and data center protocols.
- Offer local access and escort services for vendors and carriers.
- Execute remote hands work for internal and external customers.
- Support 24/7 operations and work any shift in a 24x7x365 environment.
- Assist with physical and logical installations of Flexential services.
- Ensure Data Center cleanliness and perform Facilities Rounds.
- Handle inbound and outbound shipping/receiving for customers and Flexential.
- Operate and manage Badge Access Security System.
- Collaborate with Critical Infrastructure Manager when needed.
- Work with local management to manage cabling and inventory levels.
- Perform other assigned duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Operating systems.
- Self-starter with strong motivation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on commitments and deadlines.
- Preferably 1 year of experience in IT Support.
- AA, BS, or High School Diploma.
- Network+, Security+, or CCNA certifications desired.
- Microsoft MCP or MCSA preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
- Work in cold temperature environments.
- Operate pallet jacks and lift heavy objects.
- Pull and install cabling as needed.
