Data Center Operations Technician I

Job Description:

The Data Center Operations Technician I at Flexential is a crucial 24x7x365 role providing physical and Level II technical support to customers. This position requires a solid understanding of Facilities infrastructure, Windows operating systems, PC troubleshooting, and management applications. The individual must represent Flexential professionally and technically during interactions, exhibiting a calm and professional demeanor.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

• Provide timely resolution and escalation of Facility and customer issues.
• Maintain a professional attitude and conduct while performing data center duties.
• Troubleshoot and document technical issues using the Flexential ticketing system.
• Follow Flexential Support and Data Center policies, processes, and procedures.
• Provide local access and escort for vendors and carriers.
• Perform remote hands work for internal and external customers.
• Assist with physical and logical installations of Flexential services.
• Ensure Data Center and surrounding areas are clean.
• Perform Facilities Rounds and escalate pertinent information.
• Manage all shipping/receiving for customers and Flexential deliveries.
• Operate and manage Badge Access Security System.
• Assist Critical Infrastructure Manager (CIM) as needed.
• Maintain cabling and general usage item inventory levels.
• Perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

• Passion for providing a great customer experience.
• Understanding of Windows and Microsoft Operating systems.
• Self-starter and motivated individual.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Strong attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
• Preferably 1 year of experience in an IT Support environment.
• AA, BS, or High School Diploma.
• Network +, Security +, and/or CCNA desired.
• Microsoft MCP or MCSA preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to climb ladders and work aloft.
• Ability to work in cold temperature environments.
• Ability to maneuver pallet jacks and lift heavy objects.
• Ability to pull and install cabling.

Hourly Pay Range:

• Hourly pay range for this position is estimated to be ($20.30 - $23.81).
• Actual pay range depends on experience, location, and qualifications.
