Diesel Mechanic
Job Description
Transdev is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair vehicles, including Gillig buses, Cummins, Allison, and CAT heavy equipment owned by Summit County. The selected candidate will work four 10-hour days per week. Join our team and enjoy a competitive hourly rate of $45 to $48, with the opportunity for a sign-on bonus of up to $4,000*. Responsibilities
- Assist with preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
- Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair, including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, transmissions, and other repairs.
- Ensure work orders are completed accurately.
- Assist with road calls and emergency services as necessary.
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsement required (or must be obtained within 90 days of employment).
- At least 5 years of automotive or diesel maintenance & repair employment experience or a combination of technical school education & experience.
- Mechanic's toolset.
- ASE certifications required. Must be willing to participate in company ASE certification program (company training, testing, and bonuses provided).
