Job Description
We are currently seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Transdev. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing vehicles, including Gillig buses, Cummins, Allison, CAT heavy equipment owned by Summit County. This position offers a competitive salary of $45 - $48 per hour, along with up to a $4,000 sign-on bonus. Additionally, you will work four 10-hour days per week, allowing for a favorable work-life balance.
Responsibilities
- Assist with preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
- Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair, including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
- Ensure accurate completion of work orders.
- Provide assistance with road calls and emergency services as needed.
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsement required (or obtainable within 90 days of Employment).
- Minimum of 5 years of automotive or diesel maintenance and repair experience, or a blend of technical school education and hands-on experience.
- Mechanic's toolset.
- ASE certifications necessary; willingness to engage in the company ASE certification program.
- Subject to DOT drug testing; compliance with DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40.
