1st Shift Warehouse Package Handler

Job Description

At Aldi, we're looking for a 1st Shift Warehouse Package Handler to join our team. This is a full-time position, with an average of 30-35 hours per week and a starting wage of $23.00 per hour. As a Warehouse Package Handler, you'll play a vital role in the efficient operation of our warehouse, including receiving incoming stock, relocating merchandise, sorting and loading products, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Select and receive incoming stock efficiently.
• Relocate merchandise throughout the warehouse according to product handling guidelines.
• Sort, organize, and load merchandise strategically for shipment and unload incoming shipments.
• Perform general cleaning duties to maintain warehouse appearance standards and safety requirements.
• Participate in taking warehouse inventory counts according to guidelines.
• Cooperate and interact effectively with peers, suppliers, and warehouse leadership.
• Provide input to warehouse management regarding improvements to processes.
• Inspect product, consult with warehouse management regarding product quality, safety concerns, and sanitation issues.
• Act and decide independently within the delegated area of responsibility.
• Assist warehouse management in achieving budgeted goals.
• Perform all assigned tasks accurately, efficiently, and within company policy and procedures.
• Follow ergonomic program according to established procedures.
• Operate equipment according to safety guidelines.
• Notify management regarding product quality, safety concerns, and sanitation issues.

Job Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older to be employed for this role at Aldi.
• Demonstrate concern for quality, product integrity, and safety of one’s own and others’ work and impact to the stores.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic equations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Lift and place product weighing up to 45 pounds on pallets at various heights.
• Move merchandise from warehouse stock and prepare products for store deliveries.
• Sit, stand, bend, reach, grip, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk throughout the warehouse.
• Work in varying temperatures, hot and cold, including outdoor and refrigerator/freezer environments.
• Safely and properly operate powered industrial equipment.
