Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Area Director of Sales to oversee the Wisconsin/Michigan area for our three independent hotels. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Sales team to ensure a high level of professionalism, guest service, and profitability. The Area Director of Sales will report to the hotel General Manager and will play a pivotal role in executing sales activities to achieve budgeted goals, researching market opportunities, and negotiating with clients to achieve maximum revenue/profit potential while satisfying client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Execute sales activities to achieve budgeted goals.
  • Research, analyze, and monitor financial, technological, and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and establish a leadership position.
  • Plan and participate in Sales trips and industry-related meetings.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting plan and enhance the hotel’s community image by actively participating in associations, events, clubs, and boards.
  • Assume active ownership of assigned sales territory and respond to specific market needs.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of sales, marketing, and revenue management.
  • Minimum three to five years of sales and marketing leadership in a similar sized operation.
  • Ability to analyze data and establish appropriate sales strategies.
  • College degree or Associate's degree with experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Supervisory and personnel management experience.
  • Demonstrated skills in supervising and building a high-performing sales team in the hotel industry.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel 75% of the time.
