Job Description

The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), the largest airline pilot union in the world, is seeking an experienced Aviation Benefits Attorney to join our team at our office in Tysons (McLean), Virginia. The Benefits Attorney will represent ALPA’s interests in a broad range of employee benefits matters, providing legal advice with respect to pilot employee benefit plans, including qualified defined benefit plans, defined contribution plans, nonqualified deferred compensation plans, welfare benefit plans, and other fringe benefit plans.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice related to employee benefits matters.
  • Represent ALPA’s interests in benefit plan negotiations.
  • Provide consultation on qualified and nonqualified benefit plans.
  • Handle legal matters related to fringe benefit plans.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an approved school of law.
  • Member in good standing of the Bar.
  • Minimum five (5) years of related experience.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Experience with online legal research, Westlaw or equivalent is preferred.
