Emergency Veterinary Technician

Job Description

Ethos Veterinary Health's Premier Veterinary Group in Grayslake, IL is seeking a dedicated Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our team. This position offers a full-time schedule of 36+ hours per week for the overnight shift, with flexible part-time options available. As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in triaging and providing care for patients in our Emergency and Critical Care Department.

Responsibilities

• Triaging incoming patients and managing clients throughout their visit.
• Partnering with DVM's in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
• Completing patient daily treatments promptly at key treatment times.
• Assessing hospitalized patients and ensuring their well-being.
• Assisting with the flow and organization of the Emergency and Critical Care department.
• Obtaining and processing laboratory samples and utilizing various imaging modalities.
• Executing, monitoring, and recovering sedation and anesthetic events.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in general nursing care, anesthesia administration, assisting in procedures, admitting and discharging patients, and client communication. A high school education or equivalent is required, with certification or licensing as a veterinary technician preferred.
