Material Handler

Job Description

Slumberland Furniture is currently seeking Full-time Material Handlers to join our warehouse team. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for efficiently storing, moving, and distributing merchandise. This position offers competitive pay starting at $17 per hour with a Monday-Friday schedule starting at 7:00am.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position

This role involves merchandise movement, including storing, relocating, and ensuring accurate records using the point of sale (POS) system. Additionally, training other employees, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a safe and organized facility are essential responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently move merchandise within the warehouse for space optimization.
• Handle merchandise for display, delivery, or shipment.
• Use the POS system to manage inventory flow.
• Ensure accuracy in customer orders and system records.
• Receive incoming merchandise, inspect, and prepare for storage or delivery.
• Lead by example and provide training to other employees.
• Communicate professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Adhere to safety policies, maintain equipment, and follow guidelines.
• Perform additional duties as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic math skills and computer knowledge.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work collaboratively and adhere to safety practices.
• Experience with tools, hardware components, and product assembly.
