Merchandise Handler - No Weekends

Job Description

Slumberland Furniture is currently seeking Merchandise Handlers with Forklift Operations experience to join our warehouse team. This full-time position offers competitive pay starting at $17 per hour, with a Monday to Friday schedule starting at 7:00 am.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position:

As a Merchandise Handler, you will be responsible for storing, moving, and distributing products efficiently while providing training to other team members.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently move and store merchandise within locations.
• Prepare merchandise for display, storage, delivery, and shipment.
• Utilize the point of sale (POS) system for managing inventory.
• Ensure accuracy in customer orders and system records.
• Handle incoming and outgoing merchandise ensuring quality control.
• Provide training to other team members and lead by example.
• Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
• Resolve inventory discrepancies and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe and organized facility.
• Assist in building maintenance and lighting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED (or in progress of obtaining).
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware components.
• Valid driver's license and basic computer knowledge.
• Experience with POS systems is desirable.
