Job Description
We are hiring a Senior Merchandise Handler to join our team at Slumberland Furniture. This full-time position offers a competitive salary starting at $17 per hour. As a Senior Merchandise Handler, you will be responsible for efficiently handling merchandise, ensuring accuracy in inventory management, and providing excellent customer service.
Primary Objective & Scope of Position
This position involves storing, moving, and distributing products effectively. You will lead by example, provide training to other team members, and maintain space efficiency within the warehouse.
Responsibilities
- Move and condense merchandise to optimize space.
- Handle merchandise for display, storage, or shipment.
- Utilize the point of sale (POS) system for managing inventory.
- Ensure accuracy in customer orders and system records.
- Conduct incoming and outgoing merchandise processes with attention to detail.
- Provide training to other employees.
- Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members and follow supervisor instructions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (or currently working towards).
- Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware components.
- Valid driver's license.
- Basic computer knowledge; POS experience is desirable.
