Toolmaker

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Toolmaker to join our manufacturing facility at Select Industries Corp. As a Tool and Die Maker, you will be responsible for crafting dies and metal tools, interpreting design schematics, cutting and shaping dies, and assembling completed parts. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in metalwork, engineering, and attention to detail to create expertly crafted metal forms for the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret assembly prints.
• Build fixtures using tools and dies, creating new fixtures when necessary.
• Repair and maintain dies, molds, and tools, ensuring functionality.
• Read and understand blueprints and schematics to create new fixtures and machine parts.
• Utilize CAD software to design tools and dies.
• Inspect completed tools and dies for quality and performance.
• Operate and maintain equipment, ensuring efficiency and safety.
• Modify machines for product quality within specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Set up and operate machine tools, grinding details to specifications.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience as a tool & die maker.
• Proficiency in operating measuring and production equipment.
• Understanding of geometry, trigonometry, and algebra.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Knowledge of CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and Experience

• Prior experience in die setting or metal stamping.
• Tool and die maker certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Sitting at a desk, standing, and lifting up to 15 pounds.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Flexibility to perform various physical tasks as required.
