Responsibilities

  • Create high-impact solutions that address technology and business priorities.
  • Demonstrate expertise in multiple contexts, including programming languages, security, automation, testing, and business domains.
  • Participate in strategic technology decisions to drive innovation within Discover.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate issues using intuition and experience in various domains.
  • Coach technology communities and contribute to the growth of the team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related fields.
  • Internal applicants must have a technical proficiency rating of proficient on the Dreyfus engineering scale.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with front-end web development using JavaScript frameworks like Angular or React, as well as backend technologies.
  • Proficiency in Cloud Technologies such as AWS, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, and OpenShift.
  • Ability to develop and implement API service architecture.
  • Strong automation mindset for testing and build/deploy concepts.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Github Actions, Chef, and Ansible.
  • Familiarity with tech stack including Java, Spring, Kafka, Openshift, and Jenkins.

Compensation: $104,000.00 to $175,600.00
