Job Description

We are looking for a Research Technician Intern (Summer Intern) to join The Conservation Fund's Freshwater Institute in Shepherdstown, WV. This part-time internship involves assisting with pilot-scale anaerobic digestion experiments from June 1, 2024, to August 15, 2024. The position offers valuable hands-on experience in environmental research and water quality testing.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a pilot-scale anaerobic digester and collect data.
  • Assist with water quality testing and sludge sample analysis.
  • Record and manage data using Microsoft Excel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Prior laboratory experience and proficiency in Office 365 applications.
  • Interest in waste treatment technologies and animal welfare.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain high research standards.

Preferred Skills

  • Basic knowledge of anaerobic digestion and equipment like pumps and mixers.

Compensation

This internship offers a competitive salary ranging from $17.00 to $20.00 per hour based on experience.
