Job Description
We are looking for a Research Technician Intern (Summer Intern) to join The Conservation Fund's Freshwater Institute in Shepherdstown, WV. This part-time internship involves assisting with pilot-scale anaerobic digestion experiments from June 1, 2024, to August 15, 2024. The position offers valuable hands-on experience in environmental research and water quality testing.
Responsibilities
- Operate a pilot-scale anaerobic digester and collect data.
- Assist with water quality testing and sludge sample analysis.
- Record and manage data using Microsoft Excel.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Prior laboratory experience and proficiency in Office 365 applications.
- Interest in waste treatment technologies and animal welfare.
- Ability to work independently and maintain high research standards.
Preferred Skills
- Basic knowledge of anaerobic digestion and equipment like pumps and mixers.
Compensation
This internship offers a competitive salary ranging from $17.00 to $20.00 per hour based on experience.
