CERTIFIED PATHOLOGY ASSISTANT

Job Description

We are looking for a Certified Pathology Assistant to join Campbell County Health in Wyoming. As a Certified Pathologists' Assistant, you will handle daily specimen grossing workload, assist with various procedures, and work under the supervision of the Pathologist.

Job Responsibilities

• Accurate specimen accessioning and documentation.
• Describing gross anatomic features and dissection of surgical specimens.
• Preparation of tissue for histologic processing and other analytical procedures.
• Assisting with special procedures like EBUS and Bone Marrow.
• Performing autopsies with proper authorization and preliminary diagnosis completion.
• Coordinating digital slide scanning with pathologists.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree.
• Completion of a NAACLS Clinical Laboratory Science Program.
• ASCP Certification as a Certified Pathology Assistant.
• 1-2 years of Pathology Assistant experience preferred.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Knowledge of lab procedures, equipment, and data interpretation.
• Computer proficiency for electronic records and basic office equipment.
