Acme Operator

Job Description

We are looking for an Acme Operator to join WesternScott Fetzer's team. As an Acme Operator, you will be responsible for operating multiple spindle lathe type screw machines equipped with automatic indexing and feeding mechanisms to machine metal bar stock. Your role will involve following strict manufacturing procedures to ensure product quality and adherence to production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Use shop packages to understand manufacturing orders, bills of materials, routings, part prints, job layouts, and quality alerts.
• Operate multiple machines simultaneously based on production requirements.
• Sort and rework non-conforming parts as needed.
• Conduct quality checks and notify supervisors of any non-conforming products.
• Participate in SQCD Board meetings as scheduled.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks according to established procedures.
• Request raw materials in a timely manner and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Qualifications

• Ability to safely and properly operate and set up various production machines.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Proficiency in simple math calculations.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, memos, and blueprints.
• Capability to write simple correspondence and complete quality forms.
• Familiarity with measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, and other inspection tools.
• High School education or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
