Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join Discover Financial Services, a leading digital banking and payments company. In this role, you will work on holistic engineering deliverables across different stages of the product lifecycle, determine technology patterns for solutions, and guide junior engineers. You will play a key role in building, managing, and supporting core infrastructure and security services in the public cloud, focusing on automation, security, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Engineer complex public cloud (AWS, GCP) Solutions.
• Implement configuration management an Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Python, Chef and Cloud Deployment Manager).
• Contribute to technology communities and lead demos and presentations.
• Design resilient cloud systems and services with a focus on automation.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver world-class products and services.
• Continuously learn and adopt new technologies.
• Coach team members and foster the adoption of new technologies.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors in Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, or related areas.
• Technical proficiency in the Dreyfus engineering scale.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GCP and AWS public cloud in a production environment.
• Growth mindset and willingness to learn and apply new technologies.
• Ability to work in agile teams with diverse skill sets.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Open Shift.
• Strong commitment to customer service and task completion.
