Licensed Practical Nurse

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Valley Counseling Services, a program of Family and Community Services Inc. This is a full-time position, with variable hours determined by client and agency needs, but typically following a 40-hour work week schedule.

Responsibilities

• Administer medication under the supervision of the Medical Director and other VCS physicians.
• Screen and address client questions and concerns regarding medical issues.
• Assist psychiatrists in their roles and report physical health concerns of clients.
• Provide emergency care, first aid services, and crisis intervention as needed.
• Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and committees as required.
• Ensure accurate documentation according to VCS policies and state regulations.
• Maintain effective communication with co-workers and supervisors.

Qualifications

• Required skills in medication administration, health information gathering, crisis intervention, and communication.
• Training in First Aid, CPR, and De-escalation techniques.
• Valid Ohio LPN license with medication administration training.
• Reliable transportation and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass criminal background check.

Minimum Requirements

• Practical nursing degree from an accredited institution.
• Prior mental health nursing experience preferred.
