Wilmington Eye is looking for a customer-focused Optical Technician to join our team and provide exceptional service to our patients. The ideal candidate will play a key role in recommending and fitting eyewear to meet our patients' vision needs while delivering a warm and welcoming experience. Responsibilities:
- Greet patients warmly and assist with their optical needs promptly.
- Take measurements, custom-fit glasses, and perform minor eyewear repairs.
- Use advanced tools like lensometers to ensure precise eyewear quality.
- Provide accurate information on eyewear delivery and assist patients with product selection.
- Maintain a clean, organized dispensary and manage inventory.
- Resolve patient issues promptly and collaborate with the management team when necessary.
- Explain insurance/vision plan benefits to patients clearly and comprehensively.
Requirements:
Required:
- Two or more years of optical experience in a retail setting.
Preferred:
- Proficiency in computer usage and ability to follow procedures.
- Strong communication skills and a teamwork-oriented approach.
- Exceptional productivity and technical competence.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and willingness to travel as needed.
