Job Description

Fathom is seeking a highly qualified Senior Accountant to coordinate their accounting and reporting processes. This position will be responsible for recording transactions in the general ledger, maintaining and reconciling account balances, ensuring support for all transactions, assisting with the month-end close process, understanding account variances to prior periods, and preparing analysis and reports for Fathom Finance leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Syteline ERP conversion for the accounting and reporting process and become a subject matter expert.
  • Prepare journal entries to record monthly transactions in the general ledger, ensuring support for each entry.
  • Assist with monthly close, including completion of assigned tasks in a timely manner, reconciling assigned account balances, reviewing and explaining account variances vs. prior periods, and ensuring accuracy and completion of accounting records.
  • Account for payroll and related activity and accruals, including commissions, benefits, and taxes.
  • Assist internal customers in researching accounting matters and ensuring the general ledger is accurately presented.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least five years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success as an Accounting Specialist.
  • Working knowledge of computers and business software (Microsoft Office) and the ability to learn proprietary software; ability to operate general office equipment.
