As a Senior Automation Control Engineer at SDC, you will work collaboratively, focusing on developing and programming comprehensive solutions for automated equipment based on customer requirements and internal specifications.

Essential Functions

  • Design and implement advanced software and machine control programs, covering electrical and control system design, PLC programming, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) development, robotic programming, troubleshooting of electrical systems, and industrial machine vision systems.
  • Specify hardware and software components like robots, grippers, motion controllers, sensors, and vision systems to fulfill various tasks.
  • Address and resolve machine programming challenges promptly throughout the project cycle to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Support mechanical engineering in developing automation technologies including robotics, pneumatics, servo motion systems, and vision systems.
  • Assist in the machine building process from assembly, debugging, acceptance testing, to potential on-site installations, start-up support, and customer training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering-related field.
  • 5+ years of senior-level engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of expertise in Allen Bradley PLCs, HMI, servo control, electrical design, and industrial machine vision systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, LabView, MatLab, microcontrollers, or robotic programming is advantageous.
  • Strong decision-making and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with project teams.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% for project support.

Compensation

Salary: $90,000 - $115,000 annually
