Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Director of Life Claims and Investigations to join our team at USAA. As a key member of our Life Company, you will oversee the Life Special Investigation Unit (SIU) staff, manage claims and fraud investigation programs, and develop operational strategies to ensure member satisfaction and adherence to industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance to staff in interpreting procedures and guidelines.
- Make decisions within the claims and benefits process and oversee claim investigation teams.
- Develop and implement strategic and operational plans for Claims Security, including fraud detection programs.
- Communicate and train staff on new programs and processes.
- Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead hiring, employee development, and performance evaluation processes.
- Manage risks associated with business activities in line with risk and compliance policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 8 years of relevant business experience with 3 years in Claims and/or Insurance Fraud.
- 3 years of direct team lead or management experience.
- US military experience or military spouse/partner is a plus.
- Familiarity with life insurance and annuity claims processes.
- Demonstrated success in operational leadership and results delivery.
