Job Description
We are looking for an Engineer III - Design EE to join our team at EarthScope Consortium in Socorro, New Mexico. As the Engineer III, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing technical geophysical projects of moderate complexity that involve multiple stakeholders and technologies. This position requires the implementation and management of field operations across various locations, collaborating with engineers to solve technical problems innovatively and ensuring alignment with best practices and the EarthScope mission. The Engineer III will also provide training, maintain high standards, and act as an ambassador for the organization.
Responsibilities
- Act as a technical lead on geophysical projects with multiple technologies and stakeholders.
- Set strategies and execute scope for assigned projects.
- Identify and solve complex technical problems creatively.
- Integrate and troubleshoot geophysical technology, firmware, and software.
- Contribute to the design and testing of new systems.
- Prepare project budgets and provide financial recommendations.
- Strengthen alliances with various departments and community members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or related field.
- 7+ years of experience with geophysical sensors or networks.
- Experience in data processing, electronics design, and field deployments.
- Proficiency in programming, systems engineering, and project management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
