Job Description
Discover Financial Services is looking for an Application Engineer to join their team. As an Application Engineer (Full Stack), you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop technical solutions. You will be responsible for building and releasing reliable software systems at scale, guiding the team from inception to production. This role involves supporting core financial functionality and transitioning systems to modern, cloud-based microservices.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to product team deliverables using Java programming technology.
- Identify automation opportunities to enhance product delivery efficiency.
- Solve complex technical problems and explore innovative solutions.
- Work with business partners to understand all requirements.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy new features with high quality to production.
- Lead technology communities at Discover.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Information Technology or Software Engineering.
- Internal applicants must have a technical proficiency rating of competent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, and Openshift.
- Strong automation mindset for testing and build/deploy processes.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline tools like Jenkins, Github Actions, and Ansible.
- Proficiency in Java, Spring, Kafka, Openshift, and Jenkins.

Compensation
Base pay ranges from $86,500.00 to $146,100.00. Additional incentives may be offered based on factors like experience and skill level.
