GENERAL MANAGER

Job Description

At Hood Container Corporation, we are seeking a dedicated General Manager to lead our Houston, Texas Corrugator Plant. As the General Manager, you will be an essential figure within our organization, overseeing a team of over 180 employees.

In this pivotal role, you will provide strategic direction for the plant's operations, collaborate with senior leadership, and ensure the achievement of both immediate and long-term objectives. Reporting directly to the Vice President of the Industrial Packaging Business, you will have the opportunity to make significant contributions to our business and industry.

Responsibilities

• Model and promote our Guiding Principles & Leadership Characteristics among the team.
• Lead all aspects of the plant's operations, including safety, quality, manufacturing, sales, and finance.
• Manage the plant budget to drive volume and profitability.
• Implement continuous improvement strategies aligned with the organizational vision.
• Support local leadership to enhance plant efficiency.
• Prioritize safety and collaborate with the safety department to enhance protocols.
• Work with business unit leaders to identify and implement improvements.
• Oversee capital projects and maintain customer relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of industry experience in a management role.
• Financial and capital management knowledge.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to balance business and employee needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Adaptability to thrive in an evolving and flexible environment.
