Job Description
The University of Toledo Physicians is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with physicians in a collaborative care model to provide essential patient care, administrative support, and ensure the smooth operation of our clinics.
Responsibilities
- Perform clinical procedures under physician or healthcare provider supervision, including physical exam preparations, drug administrations, and patient vital sign measurements.
- Escort patients, communicate instructions clearly, and ensure all necessary information is documented in patient charts.
- Assist with in-office procedures, lab testing, and maintain exam rooms with adequate supplies for patient care.
- Handle phone calls, triage messages, and maintain logs and checks for medical equipment and supplies.
- Champion quality indicators to ensure the highest standards of patient care and organizational responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent, with BLS Certification.
- 1+ year of clinical/medical industry experience or Medical Assistant Diploma preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, clinical proficiency, professionalism, and computer skills required.
- Additional preferred qualifications include accreditation from a Medical Assisting Program and relevant certifications such as RMA, CMA, or CCMA.
Working Conditions
- Occasional lifting up to approximately 50 pounds, sitting, standing, walking, and exposure to clinical settings.
- Primarily inside in well-lighted areas, interacting with medical patients and healthcare providers.
