Job Description
We are seeking motivated candidates to join The Florida Department of Financial Services, Office of the General Counsel as Senior Attorneys and Attorneys within the Contracts & Rulemaking, Prosecution & Enforcement, and Workers' Compensation sections. Senior Attorneys will handle a sophisticated portfolio with private-sector relevance, while Attorney positions offer training and experience in the legal field. Positions are based in Tallahassee, Florida.
Responsibilities
- Represent DFS in transactional matters, including contract drafting and negotiation.
- Provide legal counsel on competitive solicitations and rule promulgation.
- Handle licensee discipline, licensure denial, and rule development for various divisions.
- Engage in administrative litigation for workers' compensation coverage matters.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active Bar membership in Florida.
- Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
- Experience in transactional law, litigation, or administrative proceedings is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
