Job Description

We are looking for Service Technicians with a problem-solving mindset to join our team at Rudd Equipment Company. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and performing repairs on heavy equipment, ensuring all work is carried out in adherence to safety regulations and in a manner that aligns with our Company Values. Depending on expertise and location, you will handle a range of tasks from inspecting equipment to fabricating parts and traveling for remote work assignments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in a safety program and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems on heavy equipment, making informed repair decisions.
  • Perform repairs in the field, including welding and fabrication as necessary.
  • Repair and replace various components of equipment systems.
  • Work efficiently to meet customer expectations and maintain quality standards.
  • Be flexible to work overtime, weekends, and travel for on-site repairs.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and customers regarding repairs.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and drive-train systems.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and ability to repair various systems.
  • Experience with welding, equipment operation, and reading technical schematics.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical school graduate preferred.
  • Experience with Volvo and paving equipment advantageous.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain DOT Medical Certification.

Physical Demands

This position requires the ability to lift heavy components, work in diverse weather conditions, and travel as needed for assignments. Adaptability and physical stamina are essential for performing the role effectively.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with variable work hours and occasional overtime requirements.
