Job Description
We are looking for dedicated and skilled Diesel or Automotive Mechanics to join our team at First Student, the leading school transportation provider in North America. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing school buses, ensuring the safety and readiness of our vehicles for daily operations. Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and DOT maintenance checks on school buses.
- Diagnose and repair various vehicle components such as brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
- Guide and assist lower-level technicians in their duties.
- Ensure accurate completion of work orders and provide efficient mobile emergency services when required.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a willingness to obtain CDL while employed.
- 1-5 years of automotive or diesel maintenance experience or relevant technical school education.
- Possession of a mechanic's tool set and a commitment to participate in the ASE certification program.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical requirements.
