Job Description
Fibertek, Inc. is a leading developer of laser and electro-optic systems for the aerospace community. We are currently looking for an experienced Firmware Engineer to join our Research and Development Team in Herndon, VA.
Responsibilities
- Develop, verify, and upgrade firmware in electro-optical systems.
- Collaborate with small teams to bring products from concept to completion.
- Utilize VHDL for firmware development.
- Work with Xilinx, Microchip FPGAs, and related tools.
- Interface with hardware designers for seamless integration.
- Create and run simulations to verify design compliance.
Requirements
- 3+ years of relevant experience in firmware development.
- BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
- Proficiency in VHDL and FPGA development.
- Experience with interfaces like SPI, I2C, UART, and DDR3.
- Familiarity with lab instruments for testing and analysis.
Bonus Areas
- Experience with Hi-Rel/Space programs and signal processing.
- Knowledge of Spacewire, Gigabit Ethernet, or Aurora interfaces.
- Ability to work with IP cores and microcontrollers.
- Experience with FPGA embedded cpu cores like Zynq and Microblaze.
- Proficiency in designing GUI-based test software.
