Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Diesel Mechanic to join our team at First Student, the leading school transportation provider in North America. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our school buses. Your responsibilities will include assisting with preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections, diagnosing and repairing various vehicle components, and ensuring accurate completion of work orders. Responsibilities

  • Assist with preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections.
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle components including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
  • Ensure accurate completion of work orders.
  • Assist with mobile emergency services.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license required; willingness to obtain CDL while employed.
  • At least 1 year of automotive or diesel maintenance & repair experience or technical school education.
  • Possess a mechanic’s tool set.
  • Willingness to participate in ASE certification program.
  • Subject to DOT drug testing.
