Job Description
The Solid Waste Disposal Authority of Baldwin Co AL is looking for a dedicated Solid Waste Technician to join our team. As a Solid Waste Technician, you will perform a variety of manual labor tasks, operate trucks and light tractors, and ensure the cleanliness of SWDA property.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor duties, including mowing grass, pruning shrubs, and removing trash.
- Operate collection trucks and lift garbage cans.
- Drive trucks and light tractors under training status.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of truck and tractor operation and maintenance.
- Familiarity with traffic rules and safety regulations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Special Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License (CDL required for promotion).
- Ability to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
- Compliance with safety and dress standards.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to operate garbage trucks and other equipment.
- Physical dexterity to perform manual tasks and lift heavy objects.
- Adaptability to adverse environmental conditions.
Compensation
Salary Range: $16.54 - $27.10 per hour.
