Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Sous Chef to join our team at Lantern Hill by Erickson Senior Living, a premier continuing care retirement community in Union County, New Jersey. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in our Signature Dining program, bringing your culinary expertise and teamwork skills to deliver exceptional dining experiences in our fine dining restaurants and nursing venues.

Compensation

Commensurate with experience, starting at $65,000 annually, along with a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily kitchen production and food preparation for resident meals.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality in food service, following recipes and dietary restrictions.
  • Supervise culinary and utility staff, including scheduling, training, and discipline.
  • Maintain organization and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of full-service experience.
  • Supervisory and coaching experience of at least 6 months.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred, culinary program graduate a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying temperatures.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
